However, let’s face reality when it comes to your roof, making sure its leak-proof can either be a small investment or large. The first one narrowing down to a small investment or just the less costly general maintenance. Many people assume that a roof leak automatically means it’s time for a brand new roof, but luckily that isn’t always the case. Thankfully, there are many warning signs when your roof should be looked at by an expert, so it isn’t as complicated as some might think it is.

If you see mold or mildew growth on ceilings or walls, chances are you have a leaky roof that is causing damage to your home’s structure. Check that your home had adequate ventilation, your insulation is dry and your bathroom plumbing isn’t leaking. If all those things are good, you most likely need to replace your roof. Keep in mind that mold can have horrible effects on your family’s health and it is imperative that you look into the problem and fix it immediately.
